Hopefully, this answers all your upfront questions - but if not, please reach out to me!

Coaching focuses on taking you from where you are now to where you want to be through a process of growth that includes gaining insight, behavioral changes, working with motivation, and accountability. Therapy, on the other hands, is intended to heal a client from past events or psychological illness. There is slight overlap, as coaching may need to touch on aspects of your past to understand and address who you are today - but always with the end goal of forward progress in mind.

Receiving coaching is a personal decision around what changes you’re looking to make in your life at this time, and I can help to identify where I can support you. Beyond that, coaching is also a commitment to yourself - to be honest during our journey and to put forth a sincere effort to be open to new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting so that you can not only make life changes for yourself but also to learn how to fuel those changes.

I would actually argue that it’s often impossible to coach in just one area. Different areas of life inherently affect one another, so even if a client wants to focus on a goal in one area, other areas may need to support it and therefore be looked at. However, I help to guide navigating and juggling these different areas in order for you to reach your goals and the unique balance you’re seeking.

I provide two free consultations - a brief Vision Sync (recommended) and a longer Fit Conversation (optional) - prior to beginning our coaching journey to help you better evaluate if this is a great fit for you. If it seems like a great partnership, starting with one package is the perfect way to give your coaching journey the time it needs to gain traction and make noticeable progress.

My goal is to help you reach your goals, so how long we work together is dependent upon how much of a gap exists between your current life landscape and your vision as well as what may be holding you back. One package (8 sessions, spaced as desired) is typically the sweet spot to make significant progress before reassessing your needs at the end of that time to determine what makes sense for you as a next step.

I communicate with clients via email for follow-ups, check-ins, and accountability as well as to answer brief questions. Coaching sessions can be scheduled according to what works for you, but for deeper support in between sessions, I am happy to work with you to define the appropriate coaching package structure and/or supplement the coaching package with shorter sessions as needed.

Given the broad scope of holistic life coaching and the many areas of life that it may cover, I work with a variety of professionals - typically in areas of business, science, and engineering - that are looking for improvements in their relationships, career, and more. What my clients all have in common is a genuine drive to make long-lasting, heartfelt changes in their lives so that they can become better versions of themselves. See the About You page for more information.

Coaching is not considered by insurance to be necessary medical “treatment” so unfortunately is not covered (In fact, therapy runs into this issue as well unless a medical diagnosis is specifically being treated).
My hope is that this will change in the future when insurance companies begin to view health in a more holistic sense so that some of the most effective methods for overall health - coaching, massage therapy, physical therapy, functional medicine, etc. - are more extensively covered.
