About You

Are you ready for coaching?

My clients are ambitious in their goal of self-alignment but often have tried various different things on their own to get the feeling or sense of purpose that they want in life without much success. They commonly face external obstacles, inner blocks or limiting beliefs, or fears holding them back.

I’ve shared the most common threads that I find with my clients below - all of which are completely understandable and okay! I have identified with, struggled with, and conquered many of these myself.

Who You Are

You might describe yourself as:

  • a visionary or having great imagination

  • ambitious, with lofty goals

  • detail-oriented

  • creative and having great ideas

  • open-minded, with a growth mindset

  • thoughtful, giving, or kind

  • curious, patient, and full of wonder

…but you might be worried about how you:

  • multitask and say “yes” to everything

  • judge yourself too harshly

  • act indecisively or procrastinate

  • feel complacent or settle “just for now”

  • overanalyze or are a perfectionist

  • are anxious and/or depressed

  • avoid existential pain and tough questions

  • try to figure it all out on your own

  • refuse to focus on just one path or option

  • neglect your health or ignore your emotions

What You Want Out of Coaching

You’re looking to:

  • be true to yourself

  • define and align with your values

  • prioritize your activities and goals in life

  • gain awareness of how to increase your energy

  • get more in touch and aligned with your core

  • identify and move past unhelpful belief systems

  • increase relaxation and peace in your life

  • build confidence and courage in life decisions

  • move toward self-discovery and success

  • feel strong and empowered in who you are

What You've Tried

You may have already tried:

  • therapy or career counselors

  • self-help books

  • journaling

  • personality tests or career assessments

  • workshops and retreats

  • frequent goal-setting

  • “how-to” research

  • shadowing / interviewing

  • thinking… a lot

  • talking with friends or family

  • focusing on productivity

Your Obstacles and Concerns

You might want to start coaching but be thinking:

  • “No one starts over at this age or this late”

  • “I haven’t done this before” or “I failed last time”

  • “I have nothing special to offer the world”

  • “I can’t afford to rock the stability in my life”

  • “My life is too demanding to handle change”

  • “I don’t have any resources or support to make it work”

  • “The world doesn’t support older learners”

  • “I have to specialize to do anything meaningful”

  • “It’s too costly to pivot to something else now”

  • “I can’t afford the time or money to put toward changing things”

  • “Who am I to want more than what I have already?”

  • “I’ve got the American dream, so I should be happy”

  • “I make good money, and it’s too risky to leave my job”

  • “The world favors youth, beauty, money, prestige… I don’t have those.”

  • “My role in my family is to stay put, not stay from what I’m doing.”

  • “I shouldn’t try to deviate from the norm… I’ll stand out too much.”

  • “I’ve made too many mistakes, and I can’t risk another one.”

  • “I’m not an emotional or self aware person, so this isn’t for me.”

Deep within each of us, our true essence burns to set us free. We must purposefully and carefully unbury it from all the rocks we've been piling onto it since birth to let it shine its brightest.

"Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid."

- Albert Einstein

What is your genius?

And guess what? These are common thoughts, beliefs, and fears to have - and they have nothing to do with whether or not you can reach your goals through our coaching time together! If you have any of the roadblocks or worries on this list, I’m happy to work through them with you, including discussing them up front to see if the time is right for coaching.
